4.1 used to是用來描述過去習(xí)慣性的或反復(fù)發(fā)生的動作。否定式可以由used not to 或didn’t use to 構(gòu)成，never也可以用于構(gòu)成否定式。
(1) When I was younger, I used to cycle to work, but I don’t now. 我年輕的時候常常騎自行車上班，但是現(xiàn)在不騎了。
(2) My brother used not to come to the fair with us.
(3) My brother didn’t use to come to the fair with us. 
(4) My brother never used to come to the fair with us. 我哥哥過去不曾和我們一起去游樂場。

4.2 used to 可以與狀態(tài)動詞連用，表示曾經(jīng)一度怎樣。 (1) I used to like the fair. 我曾經(jīng)喜歡（去）游樂場。 (2) My friends used to like him. 我的朋友們曾都喜歡著他。 (3) We used to live near a big park. 我們曾經(jīng)住在一個大公園附近。
4.3 would加上動詞原形可以用來描述過去習(xí)慣性的或反復(fù)發(fā)生的動作。否定式由would + not 構(gòu)成， 常和ever 連用。would 在表示過去的習(xí)慣時不可與狀態(tài)動詞連用。
(1) When I was younger, I would cycle to work, but I don’t now. 我年輕的時候，常常騎車上班，現(xiàn)在不了。 (2) Then we would go up to my bedroom and listen to pop. records. 然后我們總是會上樓到我的臥室里聽流行唱片。(3) My brother wouldn't ever come to the fair with us. 我哥哥過去從來不與我們一起去游樂場。
