　　在占星學(xué)中，星座代表了黃道帶所劃分的十二個(gè)均等區(qū)域。天象依“上行、下效”原則反映、支配著人類活動(dòng)，因此十二星座代表了十二個(gè)基本人格型態(tài)或感情特質(zhì)。

在西方占星學(xué)中，十二星座代表了十二種基本人格。普遍習(xí)慣由白羊座起頭，以下依序?yàn)槭亲?/P>- 白羊座(公羊)(基本宮，火象，personal)：在占星學(xué)中，白羊座由行星火星所控管。白羊座的回歸時(shí)間是3月21日至4月20日。- 金牛座(公牛)(固定宮，土象，personal)：在占星學(xué)中，金牛座的守護(hù)星是行星金星(少數(shù)現(xiàn)代占星家則認(rèn)為是矮行星谷神星)。金牛座的回歸時(shí)間是4月21日至5月20日。- 雙子座 (The Twins) (mutable, air, personal): In astrology Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury. The tropical duration of Gemini is May 21 to June 21.- 巨蟹座 (The Crab) (cardinal, water, personal): In astrology Cancer is ruled by the Moon. The tropical duration of Cancer is June 22 to July 22.- 獅子座 (The Lion) (fixed, fire, social): In astrology Leo is ruled by the Sun. The tropical duration of Leo is July 23 to August 22.- 處女座 (The Virgin) (mutable, earth, social): There is some debate in regards to a modern ruler of this sign with Chiron, Pallas, Vesta andCeres often considered candidate by some modern astrologers, but the planet Mercury is typically used as the default by tradition pending a consensus among modern practitioners; but no one knows if or when this will be. The tropical duration of Virgo is August 23 to September 22.- 天秤座 (The Scales) (cardinal, air, social): In astrology Libra is ruled by the planet Venus. The tropical duration of Libra is September 23 to October 22.- 天蝎座 (The Scorpion) (fixed, water, social): In astrology Scorpio is ruled by the planetPluto. The tropical duration of Scorpio is October 23 to November 21.- 射手座 (The Archer) (mutable, fire, universal): In astrology Sagittarius is ruled by the planetJupiter.
